A new exciting sit n go (SNG) poker tournament leader board has been announced by PokerStars, one of the top poker sites. The Battle of the Planets leader board concept enables poker enthusiasts of all levels to battle out for the top position and win the loot. According to the PokerStars official site "In the Battle of the Planets, PokerStars multi-player Sit & Go tournaments have been separated into eight divisions, all named after planets in our solar system. Everyone can take part in the competition, no matter how high or low stakes they play. Each planet represents a different range of buy-ins, from Mercury ($1-$2.99) to Jupiter ($300+)." Choosing from a buy in at different stakes from $1 to $300, players may choose to play in Mercury, Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn or Jupiter according to the price level. The site also explains that "Each of the eight planet divisions are split into two individual Leader Boards. The first is the Low Orbit Leader Board, which is tailored towards casual and recreational players. The second is the High Orbit Leader Board, which is more suited to high volume players." Players participating in the Low Orbit Leader Board play according to blocks of 20 tournaments. In the Low Orbit games a player is limited to five such tournament blocks in a week. The player's best block score for the week then is recorded on the Leader Board. The High Orbit Leader Board works in a similar way although there is no restriction on the number of blocks that may be completed in a week. In addition, points for this Leader Board are noted in blocks of 100 rather than 20. Weekly prize winnings may be won in each planet division. One of the great aspects of this tournament is that players at all levels can get a taste of serious tournament play and also have a chance to win large cash prizes. Total prize winnings for the different divisions range from $3,000 to $10,000. Players finishing in the highest positions for each division will then meet in the Battle of the Planets which contains a monthly prize pool of $50,000. |
